Just for KIDS! May 19, 2013 1-2pm

Hey, kids! I’ve heard you…. asking what you can do, how you can help… and you’ve been patiently waiting for my answer. Well, I think this is something you’re gonna LOVE! It’ll be fun (of course!) but most of all, you’re going to be able to MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Plus, it’s super easy. (Bonus!!)

11-year old Morgan, from Whitewater, WI, is the organizer of a wonderful Run/Walk Charity Event on SUNDAY, MAY 19th, from 1:00pm-2:00pm that is ONLY for kids! That’s right, just kids! If you’re between the ages of 5 and 18 then you can participate. It’s a way that kids can raise money to support a charity or non-profit organization that they choose.

Here’s what you need to know:

Ready? Okay.

Step One: Choose a Charity that matters to you.

Step Two:  Register for the event on our website: www.MotivatingKidstoGive.com

Step Three: Start collecting Donations from family and friends. Encourage Checks (vs. cash) made payable directly to your charity choice. Donations can either be a flat rate, or per lap. Collect flat rate donations immediately, and per lap donations after the event.

Step Four: Plan to attend the event on May 19, 2013. Arrive around 12:30 p.m. so we can start at 1 p.m. Bring your family to cheer you on! Have fun with friends for an hour walking or running around the Whitewater High School track.

Step Five: After the event (depending on the number of laps you ran or walked) collect your final donations.

Step Six: Mail your donations to your charity.

Step Seven: Email Morgan your total dollar amount raised, so she can add it to the grand total for 2013. (Her email is on the website.)

Yep. I told you it was easy!

So, go to Morgan’s website at http://www.motivatingkidstogive.com/ and have your parents read all the information so you can get their approval first.

Think about what kind of things are important to you. Maybe it’s helping out the homeless shelter, or the animal shelter. Maybe you’d like to raise money for your community’s Civil War Monument or for the American Cancer Society. Maybe there’s a special cause that’s close to your heart…. like AVERYday Ministries. Whatever it is, know that you – yes, little ‘ole YOU – can make a difference! And we all know that every little bit helps us get closer to making BIG CHANGES!

I’ll be there on May 19th, (not walking, or running… because I am waaaayyy too old and therefore, I don’t qualify as a kid anymore – but I WILL be cheering you all on!) and I hope to meet each and every one of you AWESOME and MOTIVATED kids! I know that if Avery was alive this is exactly the kind of thing she’d be doing. I know that she would be inviting each and every one of her friends and telling all the kids in her gymnastics class about this. She’d also be encouraging the girls from her church group to participate and try to get a huge group of people to raise money for all sorts of wonderful causes.

And, I have a feeling Avery would have ended up being really good friends with Morgan. They both seem to have the same drive to show the world that, yes, KIDS CAN MAKE A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE in our world!!

Love,

Bridget
